I second jim9. As with most transit towns, it has a 'grab a burger and run' feel about it. It's close to some nice towns though - Fernie, Kimberley, etc.

Can anyone nominate a shitter town in North America? I got stuck here on a six-hour stopover on the Greyhound bus and it was the longest six hours of my life. Fast-food hell, incessant highway traffic, ugly as f***. I still shudder when I think about it.
