What are the best hotels in Naples? The best restaurants in Naples? Also would what are the best things to do if you were going to spend a day or a week in Naples? It would be great if you could add a review and let our visitors know how they can best enjoy their time in this place. Your knowledge and experience could be really helpful to others!
Chaotic, noisy, polluted, smelly, lawless, down-at-heel and utterly maddening, Naples appears to have more in common with Delhi or Cairo than other Italian cities.

Of all the scary experiences I´ve had while travelling - coming face to face with a grizzly bear in Canada, skydiving in New Zealand, being mugged in Portugal - crossing the road in Naples would have to be the most terrifying. Neapolitans have no respect for footpaths, pedestrian crossings, brake pedals or human life. To cross the road here, it´s simply a matter of putting your right foot forward, holding your head up high and reciting the lord´s prayer while you walk (yes walk, don´t run) across the road. The traffic certainly won´t stop for you, but (most of the time) it will quite miraculously weave its way around you without slowly down a smidgen. It´s unnerving the first few times, but you´ll soon get the hang of it. If in doubt, attach yourself like a shadow to a local and cross the road with them, using them like a human shield.
